Information Evening for Prospective Students 2018
Please note the information evening for parents/guardians of prospective 1st Year students 2018 will take place, as planned, Monday, 7th November at 6pm.
No children will be permitted access to the school. This event is for parents/guardians of prospective 1st Year students 2018 only.
It is important for Parents to be aware that the care of each student is of the utmost importance to all at Loreto College and as a result our Student Support Services emphasise the Personal, Social, Emotional, Spiritual, Vocational and Educational Development of all students.
The Board of Management of Loreto College, St. Stephens Green (“the College”) is setting out its Enrolment Policy in accordance with the provisions of the Education Act, 1998, Section 15 (2)(d) to assist Parents / Guardians in relation to enrolment in the College. The Principal and the College Secretary will be happy to clarify any further matters arising from the policy.
The Principal, with the assistance of the Secretary is responsible for the admissions process. Normally they will deal with any queries and will organise the process as described in the attached document.
School Uniform Details for 2015/16
The supplier of the school uniform is Lynch's of Marino.
Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003
The Department of Education and Skills has issued a notice to parents, guardians and students aged 18 years and over outlining how personal data of students in this school is returned to the Department and how this data is processed fairly and in compliance with the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003.

The Meeting was opened with a reflection entitled “May we have enough”

1 Principal’s Report
Kolkata – students and teachers returned safe and well after a very successful trip
Social Justice Week – ongoing. Great feedback from Monday’s experience of the girls being divided into different social groupings as women / men in first and third world countries.
Development Education – Gift Box workshop on human trafficking hosted in the school on Tuesday 7th March
TY Community Care completed
PISA assessment Friday 10th March
Folk Mass on Saturday 11th March
JC Oral workshops took place 25th February, 4th March and 11th March
Erasmus Teacher group visit – teachers from Germany, Spain, Portugal, Greece and France visited the school
Assessments for incoming 1st years Saturday 11th March
Cross Country team competing in the All Ireland Finals on Saturday in Belfast

2 Board of Management
2.1 Maurice noted that the results from the Whole School Evaluation are now available on the website and that the girls had a half day recently to mark the great results for the school. The report reflects very well on everyone involved in the process and particular praise was given to the students in the report.
2.2 Graduation Mass. Graduation mass will take place on 19 May 2017 and the PA will assist with this. It will be discussed further at future meetings.
DVD. The girls’ portraits were done last week and they are bringing in their baby pictures
3 Term 2 Talk
3.1 Nora Buggy confirmed that Dr Fergus Heffernan will speak on the topic of mental health at 8 pm on Monday 27 March, with teas and coffees served by the PA from 7.30 pm. The session will be entitled “Understanding Families” but will be on the topic of mental health generally and Dr Heffernan has indicated that he is open to talking about any particular topics that the PA would like included in the talk. A number of suggestions were made at the meeting including that his talk would address:
3.2 Anxiety and suggested coping mechanisms.
3.3 Panic attacks.
3.4 Social media.
3.5 Building resilience.
3.6 Deirdre Dunne updated the meeting on the proposal for a family walk
