Orchestra
The Loreto Orchestra, directed by Sarah Lane and Eimear Mc Partland, has a very long history and has enjoyed no small measure of success over the years. Members consist of girls from first to sixth year who bring talent and variety of instruments. Their repertoire consists of works from 16th Century to modern day popular music. Instrumentalists of all standards are encouraged to participate at the weekly rehearsals which take place on Wednesday at lunchtime and after school. The students take great pride in their successes which include many first place awards at the Feis Ceoil and other feiseanna. A notable success over the years is the West Cup which they have won many times in succession. The girls look forward to their less formal performance at the annual Christmas Concert and Maytime music.
