On Saturday 24th January, the members of the school Gymnastics Club from 1st, 2nd and 3rd years met bright and early in Heuston Station ready to set out to Ballina, Co. Mayo to take part in a Gymnastics Competition. The girls were accompanied by Ms. Vauasseur, Ms. Crinion, coach Gráinne and the Gymnastic 5th Year Committee.
The girls competed against the Nadia Gym Club in Ballina town and represented the school excellently. Several girls came home with medals. We are very proud of all the girls who participated with enthusiasm and skill. A special congratulation to Anna Ryan (1T), Megan Ross (1G) and Emma O'Dwyer (1M) who received overall prizes for Loreto College.
The trip wasn't just about competition however, and the girls had time to bond as a club with swimming and a cinema visit on the jam-packed itinerary. All the girls had a marvellous time both in and outside the gym. Thank you to Ms. Vauasseur for organising a lovely trip and to Ms. Crinion, coach Gráinne and the 5th Year Committee for helping to make sure the trip ran smoothly.
