Following a routine audit of chemicals in the Science lab it was noted that one chemical required further investigation. The school followed protocol by contacting a chemical waste disposal company, the Garda Síochána and the Ordnance Corps to remove it. The Ordnance Corps and the chemical waste disposal company were satisfied that proper procedures were followed and were happy to return at the agreed time of 6 am Wednesday,18th October to safely dispose of the chemical. They removed the chemical from the premises and carried out a controlled explosion. At no time was there a danger to students or staff.
I would like to thank everyone involved in the operation for their professionalism and for ensuring the safety of our school community.

We had our first House Event of the year on Tuesday 22nd September. It was a dodgeball tournament held at lunch time in the Sports Hall. One member from each class took part on behalf of their house. Each house played two matches, the Tamarins won both of their matches and were awarded the prize of 50 house points. Great enthusiasm was shown especially by our first years. Lots of girls from different year groups came and supported their house. Well done for showing great school spirit.
