Ministry, Advocacy & Compassion is a new exhibition that takes you into the heart of 1916 and explores the work of Catholic priests and nuns during the Easter Rising. Delve into a collection of newly–released archival documents, including eye witness accounts from Loreto Archives, and read the unique accounts of those who aided the injured, fed the hungry, and attended to the imprisoned leaders before execution.
Open 1.30–5.30pm every day in the Pro-Cathedral, Marlborough St, Dublin. Admission is free.

At Loreto College, St. Stephen’s Green we are looking for a part-time Orchestra Director to join a very active Music Department which, as well as providing curricular music, offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Overall coordination of musical ensembles
2. Preparation and distribution of music required for school performances.
3. Communication with the Music co-ordinator and other staff.
4. Care and maintenance of instruments
Duties
• Sourcing a suitable repertoire for ensembles
• Arranging scores to suit the range of instruments involved
• Preparing the rehearsal venue in advance of rehearsal
• Rehearsing with ensembles on a weekly basis
• Preparing ensembles for performances
• Maintenance of musical instruments
• Organisation of store rooms as regards layout and storage of musical instruments for ease of access.
• Involvement in the preparation of school concerts
• Conducting at school concerts
Education and Qualifications:
1. Third level qualification in a relevant discipline.
2. Appropriate string qualification desirable.
Previous Work Experience:
• Experience of directing either orchestras or ensembles essential.
• Experience of working as part of a team essential.
• Experience in use of music technology essential
• Experience of working with and relating to management desirable.
• Experience of working with and relating to students desirable.
Personal Qualities:
• He/she must enjoy working with young people in a creative and stimulating environment where excellence and fun go hand in hand.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal and team-working skills.
• Proven time-management skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Interest in further learning and training.
• Reliable and flexible.
